Shanghai is an international trade city, attracts many foreign investors to set up Shanghai co., LTD., and there are also a lot of foreign enterprises set up representative offices in Shanghai. The registrations of foreign capital co., LTD and representative office are very different, the materials required are not the same. Then what are the information required for registering Shanghai representative office? The following is a brief introduction of the information required for Shanghai representative office registration. 

List of information required for Shanghai representative office registration
1. Application for Registration (Filing) of Resident Representative Office of Foreign (regional) Enterprise. 
2. Residence certificate of foreign (regional) enterprise and legal business certificate with more than 2 years existence.  Refers to the subject qualification certificate or other relevant business certificate issued by the relevant department of the country or region where the foreign (regional) enterprise is located. 
3. Articles of association or organizational agreement of foreign (regional) enterprises. 
4. Authorization or certification documents issued by foreign (regional) enterprises for authorized signatories. 
5. Appointment documents of chief representative and representative by foreign (regional) enterprises. 
6. Credit certificates issued by financial institutions that have business relations with foreign (regional) enterprises.
7. The Chief Representative, resume and identification of the representative. 
8. Proof of legal use of the representative office at the site. The copy of the property ownership certificate,and submit the original for verification; For the leased house, the original copy of the lease agreement and the copy of the leaser's property right certificate shall be submitted. If the copy of the property right certificate cannot be provided, the copy of other housing property right use certificate that can prove the ownership of the property right shall be submitted. 
9. Approval documents of the approving authority.  Where approval is required by laws, administrative regulations or The State Council for the business activities undertaken by representative offices, approval shall be obtained. 

Matters needing attention for Shanghai representative office registration 
1. In accordance with the regulations on the Registration Administration of Resident Representative Offices of Foreign Enterprises and other provisions, the regulations shall apply to the establishment of offices in China by foreign enterprises engaged in non-profit activities related to the business of the foreign enterprises. 

2. The documents in items 2 to 6 shall be certified by the notary office of the country or region to which the foreign enterprise belongs and its authorized organizations, and certified by the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China in that country (or the region under its administration).  If his country has no diplomatic relations with China, it shall be authenticated by the embassy (consulate) of a third country that has diplomatic relations with China, and then authenticated by the embassy (consulate) of China in that third country.  The documents issued by the overseas territories of some countries should first be notarized in that territory, authenticated by the diplomatic agencies of that country, and finally authenticated by the embassy (consulate) of our country in that country.  Notarization and certification of relevant documents of representative offices of enterprises in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan shall be handled according to current regulations.

3. To establish representative offices engaged in profit-making activities in accordance with the provisions of international treaties and agreements concluded or acceded to by China, corresponding documents shall be submitted in accordance with the law. 
4. For the registration of the establishment of a representative office, the foreign (regional) enterprise shall make an announcement to the public on the media designated by the registration authority. 
5. If the copy is not indicated above, the original copy shall be submitted.
