The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone is a regional Free Trade Zone established by the Chinese government in Shanghai, China. It was officially established on September 29, 2013. The total area has been expanded to 120.72 square kilometers nowadays. It covers seven zones in Shanghai, including Waigaoqiao bonded area, Waigaoqiao bonded logistics park, Yangshan bonded port area, Shanghai pudong airport comprehensive bonded area, Jinqiao export processing zone, Zhangjiang hi-tech park and Lujiazui finance&trade zone.
The advantages of registering a company in Shanghai FTZ:
1. Free Trade: the essence of the free trade zone is duty-free, free access and storage between overseas and free trade zone, free from relevant duties and customs inspection. Free to develop overseas purchasing business.
2. Free Circulation of Currency : the essence of monetary freedom is financial policy opening, conversion rate, tax rate, market-oriented exchange rate, free relative exchange rate, different innovation of financial products, outward extension of financial pulse, convenient development of offshore financial business, etc.;

Procedures for company registration in Shanghai FTZ:
1. Lease office space in the free trade zone.
2. Check the name of the enterprise (provide as many names as possible to avoid failure approval).
3. Submit registration application, apply for business license, organization code certificate, tax registration certificate.
4. Set-up a basic account of the company in the free trade zone;
5. Import and export companies shall handle import and export rights;(filing of the commission of commerce, customs registration, electronic ports, inspection and quarantine, etc.)
