According to Chinese laws, foreigners working in China must apply for a working visa to legally obtain employment and enjoy the protection of China's labor law. The details about how to apply to a working visa is as follows:
Conditions for Working Visa Application
1.Employment License for foreign employee
2.Employment certificate for foreign employee
3.Health certificate
4.Hold a valid passport or other international travel document that can replace the passport
5.No criminal record
6.Age limit is above 18 and under 55 (for female) or 60 (for male)
7.Definitive employer
Procedure for Working Visa Application
1. Employers should apply for the employment permit certificate for foreigner employees before they entry China.
2. Employers should obtain the invitation letter from the municipal foreign economic and trade commission.
3. Applicants shall apply for Z visa at the local Chinese embassy with the employment permit certificate and invitation letter.
4. applicants shall go through physical examination procedure at designated medical institutions (within 15 days after entry).
5. apply for registration form of temporary residence (issued by the public security bureau).
6. apply for work permit.
7. Apply for residence permit at exit-entry administration bureau with temporary residence registration form.
Documents required for Physical Examination
1. Valid original passport or travel document, photocopies of the photo-page
2. Four recent 2-inch photos (full face without hat)
3. Copy of company’s registration certificate
4. Original physical examination records issued by overseas medical institutions(done within last 6 months)
