Why we should do copyright protection?
First, the basic principles of China's civil legislation safeguard citizens' legitimate civil rights and interests, and improve China's intellectual property legal system. The implementation of the "Copyright Law" marks the end of the lawlessness in the field of literature and art, and represents the development of the legal protection system of intellectual property in China has reached a new stage.
Second, the establishment of a legal copyright protection system has protected the legitimate rights and interests of creators, aroused the enthusiasm of writers in their creation, and created favorable conditions for the prosperity of socialist scientific and cultural undertakings. "Copyright Law" establishes the author's personal right to his works, which provides material and spiritual conditions for the author to re-create. The "Copyright Law" prohibits infringement of works by plagiarism, falsification, counterfeiting and other illegal acts, which provides a legal guarantee for the protection of authors' legitimate rights and interests and respect for their creative achievements. When the authors' creative work is protected by law, their creative enthusiasm will be aroused, more and better works will be published, new authors will emerge in batches, and socialist scientific and cultural undertakings will surely flourish.
Third, from the perspective of adjusting the relationship between author, communicator and user, it is also conducive to the extensive dissemination of excellent works. The "Copyright Law" protects not only the legitimate rights and interests of authors, but also those of disseminators, as well as the rights of the public to conduct academic activities and acquire knowledge, share scientific or technological or cultural achievements. A work usually is not created for self-appreciation, but to be seen and used by the public, in some material form. In the process of creation, the author also needs to learn, absorb and refer to the experience and knowledge of predecessors, and create on the basis of the achievements of others' intellectual labor. Therefore, his works contain the labor of others. Except the rights of disseminators based on their own creative Labour, the public also has the right to use works, to the extent prescribed by law. Encouraging the wide dissemination of excellent works, encouraging the masses to participate in various recreational activities, improving the scientific and cultural quality of the whole nation, promoting economic development and social progress, which is also the macro interests of the country. Therefore, it is necessary and reasonable to restrict the exclusive rights of authors and disseminators. "Copyright Law" plays an extremely important role in protecting the author's interests, defining the rights and obligations among the author, the disseminator and the public, and coordinating the interests of the three.
