Shanghai work permit application is also known as Shanghai working visa application. A work permit is the permission to take a job within a foreign country. Foreigners will find it easier to work in Shanghai after the city released a series of policies yesterday to attract international talent as it works to build a global center for scientific and technological innovation.
Requirements on Applicants
1. Employed in Shanghai enterprise;
2. Physical fitness;
3. Relevant necessary technical skills and educational degree as well as over 2 years relevant working experience related to the current working position;
4. No criminal record;
5. Holding valid passport or alternative passport or other international traveling certificate;
6. Requirement of age for male is from 18 to 60 years old, Female is from 18 to 55 years old.
Procedures for Application
1. Before entry into China, apply for employment permitting certificate by employing corporate;
2. Apply for notification visa letter from municipal foreign economic and trading commission by employing corporate;
3. Apply for Z visa in local China embassy, with permit certificate and notification letter;
4. After entry into China with Z visa, go for physical examination or procedures confirmation in specified medical institution;
5. After physical examination, obtain temporary resident registration form (offered by public security bureau);
6. Employing corporate apply for “foreigner work permit” from original license issuing authority;
7. Apply for residence permit from Exit and Entry Administration bureau with temporary resident registration form. Only foreigners holding work permit and residence permit can be employed in China legally and protected by Chinese laws.
