Chengdu now possesses 49 R&D platforms such as national key laboratories, engineering & technological research centers and enterprise technology centers, 24 national scientific and technological industrial bases (parks) in such fields as software, integrated circuit design and new energy equipment, and 84 carriers for innovation and start-ups at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, among which there are 10 national incubators, 4 national university-based scientific and technological parks, 18 provincial incubators, and 52 municipal carriers for innovation and start-ups.
Chengdu established a total area of 2.4 million m2 as the carrier for innovation and start-ups, and the innovation and incubation level is in the front ranks in China. Chengdu has leaded in the organization of the professional Chengdu Technology Transfer Group, established industrial (technology) institutes in new energy, new materials, automobile and the Internet of things, and research institutes for new industries including Research Institute, Electronic Science and Technology of UESTC, Research Institute of Southwest Jiaotong University, Research Institute of Chengdu University of Information Technology.
Chengdu research and development ability of industrial technologies have been enhanced remarkably.
