China released its official holiday schedule for 2020 through its “Circular of the General Office of the State Council about the Public Holiday Arrangement for 2020” on November 21, 2019.

A culture shock should be noticed by foreign managers, the Saturday and Sunday before the holiday or after the holiday are often marked as additional official work days in China as to compensate for long holiday breaks.

However, private companies in China, can determine their own schedules. It is ok to have additional day off for their employees, as long as keep off work during the holiday.
